How We Vet Companions
Before any companion meets your family they complete five checks. An enhanced DBS check, because anyone visiting an older person at home should have one. Identity verification against photographic ID, so the person on the profile is the person at the door. References, taken up and read rather than filed. A human sign off, where a real person at AirCarers reviews the whole application and can say no. And GPS check in and check out on every visit, so you can see the companion arrived and how long they stayed.
Companions also complete training in safeguarding and lone working, and carry insurance for companionship visits. What vetting does not do is turn companionship into regulated care: we are not a CQC registered agency, and companions do not provide personal care, medication or clinical tasks. If you want to see the detail before you book, read our insurance and safeguarding pages, or call 07455 750006 and ask. Email lucie@aircarers.co.uk if that is easier.
